Plumbing Works Plumbing works are executed in three main stages to ensure a proper supply of clean water and efficient waste disposal.1. Underground & Drainage Phase (First Fix)This stage happens before pouring the concrete floor slab and foundation.

• Sewer Line Installation: Heavy-duty pipes (usually PVC or UPVC) are laid underground to carry wastewater to the public sewer or septic tank.
• Sleeve Preparation: Inserting large pipes (sleeves) in concrete beams to pass pipes through them later without breaking the concrete structure.
• Testing: Filling underground pipes with water (water test) to check for any leaks before covering them with soil.

2. Rough-In Phase (Second Fix / Wall Installation)This happens after the brick walls are built but before plastering (الـمـحـارة).

• Chasing and Grooving: Cutting pathways into the brick walls using a mechanical wall chaser.
• Water Supply Lines: Installing hot and cold water pipes (usually green PPR pipes) embedded in the walls for bathrooms and kitchens.
• Drainage Outlets: Installing vertical waste lines, floor drains (Gully traps), and toilet concealed flush tanks.
• Pressure Testing: Locking the pipes and pumping water at high pressure (using a pressure pump) for 24 hours to ensure there are absolutely zero leaks before plastering over them.

3. Trim Phase / Fixture Installation (Final Fix)This takes place after tiling, painting, and finishes are completely done.

• Sanitary Ware Installation: Fitting the toilets, sinks, bathtubs, and showers.
• Accessories: Installing water faucets, mixers, water heaters, and water pumps.
• Final Inspection: Testing the water flow and drainage speed to ensure everything functions perfectly.

• Conduit Laying: Flexible or rigid plastic pipes (PVC conduits) are laid down between the steel reinforcement bars of the ceiling.
• Junction Boxes: Placing the boxes where ceiling lights, fans, and chandeliers will eventually hang.

2. Wall Rough-In Phase (Second Fix / Walls)This happens after wall brickwork is finished.

• Wall Chasing: Cutting grooves into the brick walls to drop pipes from the ceiling down to the switches and outlets.
• Back Boxes (Switch Boxes): Fixing the metal or plastic boxes (العلب الماجيك) into the walls using cement mortar.
• Distribution Board (DB) Fixing: Mounting the main breaker panel box into the wall.

3. Wire Pulling PhaseThis is done after wall plastering is dry but before final painting.

• Cable Drawing: Using a steel fish tape (السوستة) to pull electrical wires through the embedded conduits.
• Separation: Grouping wires according to their load (Lighting circuits, Power socket circuits, and AC lines).
• Earthing (Grounding): Pulling safety ground wires to protect the house from electrical shocks.

4. Device Installation & Commissioning (Final Fix)This is the very last step after final wall painting.

• Switches & Sockets: Installing the outer frames, switches, power sockets, internet, and TV outlets.
• Lighting Fixtures: Hanging chandeliers, spots, LED strips, and outdoor lights.
• Panel Termination: Connecting the wires inside the main distribution board to the circuit breakers (MCBs).
• Energizing: Turning on the main power supply to test the voltage, polarities, and safety trips.
